Can magic be themed successfully? That is a question that I will try to answer in the next couple of weeks. I have 2 corporate events that have asked for “themed magic”. The first of which is a medieval event in which all the guests will be in fancy dress. They have asked for a couple of tricks to fit in with the evening. This can be difficult because theming the trick can sometimes detract from the actual impact. However, magic is inherently versatile and working in themes is entirely possible. I have performed on many exhibition stands where performing with the products and working in appropriate patter is part and parcel of the job. Quite what constitutes medieval magic is another question- it sounds like a good chance this could be my last blog entry, after my body’s charred remains are found strapped to a stake on a pile of burning oak…..
